Two new video tutorials today for beginning Adobe Photoshop Lightroom users on how to import and move files from one hard drive to another using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. These videos are intended to help new Lightroom users find their photos, or the folders full of images, that currently live on their internal hard drive. Most beginning users need the extra help with this process and its great to know that Lightroom can do all of the heavy lifting.

Lightroom 3 Lens Correction Sneak Peak

Adobe Project manager Tom Hogarty recently released this video which shows off the fantastic new Lens Corrections tool that will ship with Adobe Camera Raw 6 and Lightroom 3. I have been messing around with this feature in the private Lightroom 3 beta for a few weeks and I am amazed at how much better some of my old photos look. Check it out!

Adobe has posted the release candidate versions of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.7 and Camera Raw 5.7 on the Adobe Labs website. The ‘release candidate’ label indicates that these updates are well-tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers.

Today Apple released a free update to their Snow Leopard Operating System (OS X 10.6.3). This is a general operating system update that offers some bug fixes and performance fixes in a variety of locations.

Scott Kelby, president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, posted an article recently that might help Lightroom beginners. If you are new to Lightroom, I encourage you to read his “10 Things I Would Tell New Lightroom Users” in addition to browsing all of the articles in our Getting Started Tutorials section.

I don’t agree with all ten, though. Read on to find out where I disagree.

Timothy Armes has just released a new version of his wonderful LR2/Mogrify export plugin. Amongst the new features is a “canvas” option that allows users to place the resized image within a fixed area and the ability to use multiple watermarks on a single image.
