Blackberry Farm CabinI am delighted to offer three days of hands-on photography instruction at Blackberry Farm resort again this April. Our annual Behind the Lens Photography Workshop is a unique opportunity to photograph the beauty of a Tennessee spring at one of the most celebrated small luxury resorts in the world.

Our days will be spent photographing all around Blackberry’s gorgeous 4,000 acre property. We will spend our days together discussing composition, lighting, portraiture, and landscape photography techniques. Throughout this event we will enjoy special access to Blackberry’s grounds, its gardens, and its wonderful staff. This workshop is appropriate for photographer’s of all skill levels who are seeking small group instruction while enjoying award wining cuisine, fine wine, and legendary hospitality.

Each day we introduce new techniques and go on photographic excursions around the Farm. Workshop Leaders

Fence and Fog at Blackberry FarmDavid Marx started teaching digital photography back in 2002. Over the years, David has taught for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the American Society of Media Photographers, First Light Photography Workshops, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness Institute at the University of Montana. David’s entertaining teaching style works well for photography students of all skill levels.

Heather Anne Thomas, of Beall + Thomas Photography, specializes in food and hospitality photography. Her work frequently appears in publications such as Travel and Leisure, GQ Magazine, and The New York Times style section. Heather Anne’s years of experience photographing events, landscapes, and chefs at work at Blackberry Farm makes her an invaluable part of this unique learning experience.
