2012 Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Seminars, Field Photography Workshops, and International Photo Tours with David Marx

Azenhas de Mar, Portugal
I am excited to announce my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Seminar, Digital Photography Field Workshop, and International Photo Tour schedule for 2012! Next year, I am taking my ever-popular Adobe Photoshop Lightroom training sessions on the road.
I will be leading two, three, and four-day seminars on my favorite digital image-management program throughout the United States. I have been explaining Adobe Photoshop Lightroom’s features in plain English since the program was first released way back in 2006. Not to toot my own horn, but my Lightroom classes have helped thousands of serious photographers master this awesome software.
I am also offering digital photography field workshops next year in some of America’s most beautiful places. I have two week-long photography workshops lined up for Yellowstone National Park next year, a trip to Glacier National Park, a hybrid half landscape photography – half Adobe Photoshop Lightroom class planned for Big Sky, Montana, and a truly unique digital photography event at the world-renowned Blackberry Farm Resort.
On my field workshops we go out and shoot everyday. Workshop days are a mix of shoots, lectures, and critiques of our new images. Sometimes we shoot from sunrise to sunset! My field workshops are hands-on programs that emphasize digital photography camera skills and building strong compositions. A field workshop is an intense learning experience and a ton of fun.
Finally, I am delighted to announce that my teaching is going international next year. I have been invited to partner up with the experienced guides at Global Photography Tours for three incredible photo tours. I will be accompanying groups to Myanmar, to Israel, and on a trip to Spain and Portugal. These all-inclusive tours will take very small groups to some of the world’s most photogenic destinations.
Global Photography Tours has taken care of all the logistic details including the airplane tickets and the hotel accommodations. Their local guides will lead our groups to all of the hot spots. My job is to assist the participants capture better images at every stop along the tour. Throughout the trip I will be teaching, critiquing, and riding along with the group to provide in the field, on the spot support, at each incredible destination.

It seems that you have left out the North East and East Coast. Would love to have activities in and around New York City.
I have Lightroom and CS5 but never really have used them to great advantage. If I don’t use something like layers for a while it is like starting over from square one. Very frustrating. Any suggestions for tutorials that help bring back usability simply?
Thanks,
David
Dear David Disick,
I wish I had sponsors for more programs on the East Coast! Maybe next year. For refresher I suggest our tutorials on basic Adobe Photoshop Lightroom concepts like Getting Started: What Does “Import” Mean in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom? and What Does Export Mean in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?.

I envy your luck students who go to Burma (Myanmar), I am visiting most of these places in December because I have been so overwhelmed by the pictures I have seen. It should be a truly amazing experience.
One small point. Global Photo Tours blurb for the tour says: “Yangon, the main gateway and capital city of Myanmar.” Since 2008 the capital has nominally been Naypyidaw even though it is still under construction.

Dear Jeremy Whigham,
Thanks for catching that mistake! I hope you have a wonderful trip too. If you post photos to the web when you get back please send me a link.
