Unfortunately I am not a Windows user so I have no first-hand experience with the Memeo Sync program. I wonder though how it is making continuous backups of files that are currently open and in use like the Lightroom Catalog. I also wonder about how much additional strain it is putting on your computer's processor. These are just my hypothetical questions so if it works well please stick with it!

I like how Memeo Sync can automatically synchronize my external HD with all my photos and LR Catalog, as well as my computer's C Drive with a folder that lives on another (2nd External) Hard drive in real time as I make changes. That way I'll always have everything on 2 hard drives.

Any thoughts on Acronis vs Memeo Sync? Great to hear from you online! Welcome. Two thoughts. First I hope that you read the whole article on Professional-Grade Backup Plans first. Second, you might give Cobain 10 a try before purchasing Acronis. It is not as elegant or as powerful but I like the price! (Donationware) Please let me know if you need any help getting that backup system going.

Last time I checked the Seagate Disk Wizard is a very out of date version of the Acronis True Image Home Software. It lacks the version chain system introduced in Acronis True Image 2010 and I am not sure that it works with 64-bit versions of Windows. It's a nice freebee if you have an older operating system and a Seagate disk but that's about all....

Equal software with different price: Free
For those who are about to buy Acronis True Image I need to inform that Seagate has the Disk Wizard backup software, which is made from some kind of accordance with Acronis itself and is almost equal to it.
To use this software you only need to have at least one Seagate or Maxtor HDD connected to your computer (it could be internal or external).
To download or more information, go to Seagate web site and navgate to:
Seagate / Suport and Downloads / Disk Wizard
Good luck and... better backups, for free and from an absolutely trust able brand as Seagate.

Hello to all

Equal software with different price: Free

For those who are about to buy Acronis True Image I need to inform that Seagate has the Disk Wizard backup software, which is made from some kind of accordance with Acronis itself and is almost equal to it.

To use this software you only need to have at least one Seagate or Maxtor HDD connected to your computer (it could be internal or external).

To download or more information, go to Seagate web site and navgate to:

Seagate / Suport and Downloads / Disk Wizard

Good luck and… better backups, for free and from an absolutely trust able brand as Seagate.

By: David Marx

<guid

Good point. Never trust a backup system, or a boot disk, without testing it out before you have a crisis.

One tip... if you really want to protect your data and OS make sure that bootable disk that you have created is bootable... So insert it into you CD/DVD as soon as you created it and try to boot, in some cases the disk can't boot the system, ha-ha... Just recreate the disk and try again

Great software, saved a lot of times!
