Lightroom Installation Issues with Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6)
Reader Question: Help! I have been trying to upgrade lightroom 1.1 to version two however Adobe Photoshop Lightroom v.2 will not install on my imac. My mac is using the 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Operating System. Lightroom 1.1 installed without any problems when I was using Leopard (10.5). What’s wrong?
Answer: You cannot install Lightroom v2. on a Mac running the Snow Leopard Operating System (OS X 10.6) from the original CD but don’t panic! To solve this problem, you just need to download the latest version of Lightroom from Adobe and then everything should work fine.
This link should take you right to Adobe’s download page where you can find the most recent version of Lightroom.

Will lightroom 2.7 & Photoshop CS3 work well in OS 10.6 if I upgrade my operating system from Leopard 10.5 to Snow Leopard 10.6?
Dear Joe,
Both Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.7 and Adobe Photoshop CS3 will work well on Leopard (OS X 10.5) and on Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). Lightroom CS3 and Photoshop CS5 would be even better but the older versions are completely Snow Leopard compatible.

Help! I tried to download the latest no 3. TRIAL version of Lightroom, it installs successfully but I would not open. It just installs again and again. What do I do?
Dear Tamas,
I think you should contact Adobe’s Tech Support and have them talk you through the install. With some expert guidance you should be up and running in no time!

I have the same problem, I have a lightroom 2 cd, pc & mac compatible from sometime last year, I just bought a mac and I get an error when I try to install lightroom 2 from the cd. I will try and download a newer version but my concern is will I have to pay for the upgrade to lightroom 3 or is there just an updated version of lightroom 2 that I can get free?
Dear Barry,
Go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4672 and download the Lightroom 2.7 installer. Run it and then key in the serial number that came with your CD. It won’t cost you anything and it should solve your installation issues.

Hi there, i installed the Lightroom 3 to trial run it. But it keep reporting error in change module ! My McBook run on 10.6 OSX. Need support urgently.
Thanks in advance
Keeran-
Did you go to the Adobe site and download the latest version of Lightroom? If so, is this the version that you tried to install?
You don’t need to buy Lightroom 2 again, you just need to get the newest version of the software, and once it is installed you may need to key in the serial number that came with your old Lightroom v2.0 CD.
Best of luck,
David
I have a MacBook Pro running snow leopard and I can’t get Lightroom 2 to install. It fails every time. Are you telling me that I have to buy it a second time just to get the updates that will allow it to install successfully?!
interesting…looking for instructionals, and found myself here.
i just installed lightroom v2 on an imac running snow leopard without any problem and also ran the 2.5 update.
