NPR Stories on the 50th Anniversary of Robert Frank’s The Americans

February 18, 2009 | | Comments 0

NPR produced two great stories recently marking the 50th anniversary of Robert Frank’s The Americans. Fifty years later, Frank’s book is still one of the most influential books in the history of photography. If you have never seen this book, I urge you to get your hands on a copy. Frank’s photos are every bit as good today as they were back in the 1950′s, and Jack Kerouac’s introduction is still a great read.

I think that you will enjoy NPR’s main report, and the extended coverage, even if you are already familiar with the backstory behind the work of Robert Frank. Be sure to read the article and listen to the audio of Frank discussing his life and work!
