Wildlife Up-Close Photo Workshop
One of the best ways to improve your photography and Lightroom skills is through a hands-on workshop. I’ll be assisting at a workshop in a few weeks titled “Wildlife Up-Close.”
This Shoot & Critique workshop will be held at the Triple D Game Farm in Kalispell, MT on October 14-18th. This workshop is a unique opportunity to capture images of animals in their natural habitats, concentrate on advancing your wildlife photography skills and building your professional portfolio. At Triple D Game Farm, a wildlife center outside Glacier National Park, you are given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to photograph animals which may include bobcats, mountain lions, wolves and bears in a controlled environment. For over 30 years, Triple D has been caring for animals while providing a place for media outlets, including the BBC, National Geographic and Disney as well as individual photographers and filmmakers, thus ensuring a photographic opportunity that is safe for you and the animals alike.
Through honest and encouraging critique sessions, we work with you to build upon your strengths and increase your understanding of photographic topics. We’ll offer pointers on composition, exposure, methods for capturing motion, and provide training on the equipment that is best suited for taking pictures of wildlife. We’ll also spend some time discussing workflow, including the use of Lightroom to process images. Instructors will be available answer questions while shooting and during critiques. You leave this workshop with incredible images of animals, a better ability to anticipate a critical moment and a heightened sense of respect for all wildlife.
This workshop is offered through the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. If you’re interested in more information, or to register, please click here.
